How the Internship Exam Works (Updated Overview)
General Structure 2025. MUR Ordinance no. 428 of June 19, 2025, confirms the format with a practical exam (in person) , one or two written exams , and an oral exam, with a schedule determined by the universities. Many universities maintain two written exams (e.g., Polytechnics and IUAV), others a single written exam. Always check the announcement for your university.
Internship program. Various locations require a written internship exam , which essentially replaces the traditional internship : your actual internship experience is assessed through a report/portfolio and a dedicated written exam (e.g., Milan Polytechnic). Check the procedures and requirements in your location's announcement.
Regulatory framework (Presidential Decree 328/2001). The Section A and B tests are defined by Presidential Decree 328/2001 (two written tests, one practical test, and one oral test; Section A is more complex). Certain exemptions between sections/sectors are also provided for, as established by the decree.
